Project: Virology in the Open

Manifesto

Virology in the Open is an independent PHC Governance Project established to facilitate examination and public discussion of scientific, commercial, institutional and ethical questions relating to virology and infectious disease.

The project invites contributions from medical and scientific professionals, independent researchers, public authorities, commentators and interested members of the public, irrespective of their position on conventional or alternative explanations of disease.

Using the PHC methodology, subjects are organised into Concerns that record the questions being examined, the assertions made, their supporting and opposing evidence, the actions necessary to investigate them and the outcomes of those investigations.

Particular attention is given to scientific methods, the interpretation of experimental findings, the influence of commercial and institutional interests, professional disagreement, transparency of regulatory decisions and the quality of information presented to the public.

The project is intended to support informed examination rather than advocacy for any predetermined conclusion.
