Important information about how you can pay

Dear MR WINTER

You need to pay back the money you owe us. The total amount you owe is £575.74.

This balance includes an amount from a joint claim. This amount will appear in both your balance and that of your partner because you are both responsible for repayment. We can recover the amount from either of you; however this amount will only be recovered once.

What you need to do

You must call us by 19/10/2026 to make a payment or discuss your payment options. Our number is at the top of this letter.

If you want to pay this all at once you can pay by debit card, online banking or cheque. Information about how to pay is enclosed with this letter.

We understand it may not be possible to pay this all at once. You can set up and maintain an affordable payment plan.

If you do not do anything

We may take further action if you do not do anything by 19/10/2026. This can include:

• telling your employer to deduct money from your pay; depending on how much you earn this could be up to 20% of your net earnings, or up to 40% if you have been convicted for a benefit fraud offence

• recovering directly from your bank or building society account; if this method is unsuccessful we may apply to the court for an order disqualifying you from driving

• taking civil enforcement action via the courts

• asking a debt collection agency to collect this money on our behalf

• recovering from future benefits and State Pension that you get

HOW TO PAY

By telephone

If you telephone the office on the number shown on the enclosed letter, you can arrange to pay by Direct Debit on a monthly basis. Full settlement can be made by debit card. Please have your bank, building society or card details to hand along with your letter when you ring.

By telephone/internet banking
